PostGame PostUp: Buffalo 5 Anaheim 2

Is anyone surprised? World beaters one night, straw men the next.

Ducks showed some life to start the second period but it was for naught. Dropping the gloves to fire yourself up is one thing. Giving up the next goal make the fights a waste of time.

Other than that our Ducks did absolutely nothing worth reporting.

    BC,

The good news is that as painful as it was to listen to, Duck’s fans didn’t have to watch it.

Just looked at the “highlights” on NHL.com. Hard too believe that Buffalo only scored 5. Ducks looked like pylons in the defensive zone on the first four goals as Sabres freely took the puck to the net and pounced on rebounds while multiple Ducks watched in frozen amusement.

I was disappointed that Getzlaf thought the way to lead the team back was by dropping the gloves at the opening 2nd period faceoff vice stepping up his play. He got hammered, easily could have got injured when he went to the ice, and as you stated the Ducks gave up the next goal anyway. A goal to cut the lead to 3-1 would have been a bigger statement.

Hey ffe155, good news for you and some others. A Ducks fan on Twitter found a live feed during the first period. I saw that mess.

Yeah, I was too disappointed by Getz to even vent about it.

I understand that they were tired. But they also looked confused, disorganized and sometimes foolish.
