Game of bounces goes to Quick…

Solid effort by our team…we just could not capitalize on our opportunities. Quick did what he had to do…We are having a hard time finishing…

“We’re not scoring any goals,” Boudreau said. “Nobody is scoring any goals. Just look at the numbers of guys that haven’t scored in a long time now.” Bobby Ryan has one goal in 13 games, Saku Koivu and David Steckel haven’t scored in 15 games, and Daniel Winnik hasn’t scored in 19 games.

“We’ve got to get back to winning,” Boudreau said. “We want to start to get back to playing our best hockey by the time the playoffs start, and we’ve got to do that with a couple of wins. All of a sudden our sense of urgency has picked up, so we’ll get back to practicing.”

Hey BB perhaps we can take the refs out to lunch prior to the game so we can earn some preference points…officiating continues to be one sided. For example, in the final seconds (30 seconds) it was clearly icing…Not to mention the lack of power plays…this is got to frustrate our team.

Allot of good things to takeaway from the game…we held them to two shots in the second period and the Kings couldn’t manage a shot during four minutes of power play. We pressured them and took them to task.

Six games to go…

I believe and the scoring wil return.

The refs were Dennis LaRue, who is always involved in calling games one-sided and Dean Morton. Any time penalty calls go 5 to 1 the ref is either incompetent, biased and/or corrupt. One-sided officiating is part of the adversity teams must overcome.
“It was a tough game,” said Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau. “After the first period, I didn’t think we had our legs, and it was 6-1 in shots. We got into penalty trouble, but I thought in the second and third we played as hard as we can play. We had chances to tie it up and take the lead, and we just didn’t get it done.”
As identified as one of the keys to the game, we weren’t getting to the loose pucks in the first period.
As U and Coach point out we didn’t score on our opportunities.
“Our strength at the beginning of the year is that everyone was scoring, and now nobody is scoring,” Boudreau said. “If I had an explanation, I could cure it. We had some great chances, but we just didn’t put them in. To win hockey games, you’ve got to score goals.”
OCR’s tweeted some numbers. Bobby Ryan one goal in 13 games. Daniel Winnick no goals in 19 games and one in his last 38 games. Saku Koivu has none in 15 and just one in his last 22 games. Additionally, Luca Sbisa no points in 13 games. Francois Beauchemin has one point in his last 8 games. Corey Perry and Andrew Cogliano have no points in 3 games.

We need to fix this before the playoffs. The schedule is favorable allowing for some practice time. Our Ducks have 4 days before their next game on Wednesday. We also get a 3 day break between April 22nd and 25th.
