Like the song said, “If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere, it’s up to you NY, NY.” Looks like Teemu has made it there too as New York Times John Branch offers extended coverage of the NHL elder statesman.

According to the spread, Teemu plans on remaining in SoCal after retirement. Is there a job in the org awaiting the face of the franchise? He and Sirpa will continue to summer in Finland.

I am one of those fans wearing his jersey…experience and wisdom is pouring out in this article…if this is his last season (understandable) he will be missed. He is on track for 28/30 points in 48 games…

I hope this is Teemu’s last season U. Just don’t want to see his skills fade and watch him drop down the depth chart to where he becomes a healthy scratch. He’s probably a year maybe two at most from another demotion happening.

Agreed…the writing is on the wall…to think two season ago he had 80 points in 73 games. He will be missed. Hope he has a solid playoffs for us.

I believe Teemu already knows this is his last year. I’m sure everyone respects and admires him, but BB can’t give him more TOI when he’s not producing.
He is an amazing person and we’ve been very lucky to have him for as long as we have. I hope the speculation of doing something with the organization when he’s done playing is true.
