The gang that can’t shoot straight faces a team with nothing left to lose and full of guys playing for next year’s  job. It’s also the last home game for 16 year veteran goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff. You think the Flames might want to win one for the Kipper?

It’s a tall order to beat any team so motivated. Especially when the sign on the white board could remind many of these Flames they are 1-8-1 in their last ten games against our Ducks.

Not to put too much on the Flames but the whisper is coach Bob Hartley’s job is safe.

On the other hand is our Ducks. Oh yeah the team that appears as though they decided to play out the string two weeks ago. As if any team can turn it on and off at will.

So here we go. Another game against a team we have owned for two years. A team we have, can and should beat if only we want it. Are we willing to skate to those loose pucks? Are we willing to skate to get open and take passes on the fly? Are we willing to play our game and challenge the opposition to rise to us?

Injuries: Cam Fowler will be game time decision while Luca Sbisa is listed as questionable. The latter seems appropriate, no? Flames Alex Tanguay, sprained MCL, is done for the season.
