Anaheim’s Wildcats Hockey Club Wearing Pink

All 13 teams in the Wildcats Hockey Club agreed to participate in the month-long “Wildcats Hockey Loves Moms: Shooting for a Cure 2011″ awareness event.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Wildcats efforts also coincide with the National Hockey League’s Hockey Fights Cancer awareness campaign.
The nearly 200 Wildcats Hockey Club players are hitting the ice clad in the pinkest of pink jerseys.
That’s a pretty bold statement from a group of kids playing in such a tough sport.
Players in the competitive travel-hockey program range from age 4 to 14 and reside in cities across Southern California.
The Wildcats Hockey Club is one of four youth travel-hockey programs in Orange County competing in the USA Hockey-sanctioned Southern California Amateur Hockey Association.
Seven games – starting between 7 am and 1:25 pm – are scheduled at KHS Ice Arena in Anaheim on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
