Jamison about $20m light

Greg Jamison has turned out the couch cushions and is reportedly $20m short of the NHL’s $170m asking price for the Phoenix Coyotes. Had Bettman and the NHL/BOG accepted my nothing down offer they wouldn’t be having these problems. But I digress.
So what’s a guy to do? Jamison claims that he has a long list of potential investors to call on. Accommodating a dialing for dollars campaign only ensures that the ‘Yotes ownership saga will drag on for a few more years. It is rumored Shane Doan’s agent is busily preparing the RW’s next six final deadline extensions.
It isn’t like the NHL could let the ‘Yotes move to Quebec City or Markham or Hamilton and shift Winnipeg to the Western Conference. Far be it from me to stand in the way of the NHL’s knack for losing other people’s money.
Meanwhile, here’s a few tips for Greg Jamison:
1.) Borrow the $20m from Shea Weber.
2.) Find 20 people willing to pay a million each to be Coach for a day.
3.) Get Wayne Gretzky, Jeremy Roenick and Keith Tkachuk to host a Telethon.
4.) Do the Chinese know that there’s a US based debt they haven’t bought?
5.) Create a security. Over-subscribe it. Lose track of the holders. Cry foul and wait for your gubment bailout and bonus. Oh that hustle has already been worked, you say?

Awesome Post! I love the idea of borrowing the money from Weber…the Telethon is a great option, LOL! This is nuts, LOL! LOL! LOL!

Doan won’t come here. Two reasons –

First and most important – due to his respect for the team and organization I don’t think he will sign with a Western conference team.

Second – no matter what mgmt may say – IMO relying on the kids to fill some important holes says we’re still in a rebuilding mode. I seriously doubt a guy of 36 wants to start over with a team that has little or no chance to compete for a play-off spot – let alone The Cup.

I hope I’m wrong, but doubt that.

If the kids come through Bob Murray is a (((CHOKE))) genius and we’ll all dine at the Crow Inn Buffet. If the young guns do as expected, they’ll be up and down with incredibly inept mistakes offset by moments of breathtaking brilliance. Meanwhile the spin machine will go into overdrive hyping the next wave, especially if Getzlaf or Perry leave via UFA.
That next wave core will be Ryan for 2 years, Fowler, Holland, Etem & Hiller.
Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf have said in the past that they’d like to play their entire careers here in Anaheim. That might be a good news bad news deal too. Good we’re keeping Pears maybe not so good about Getz.
